You’ve heard the terms “mobile-friendly” and “responsive” but do you know what they actually mean ?
If you are reading this on your phone or tablet you should notice how well laid out this particular item is. The image is contained within the screen, as too are the words. You don’t have to zoom in or out to navigate around the screen and the menu at the top works perfectly, just like an App even ?
Well, that is because our website, just like all we design, is fully responsive, in that it adapts to work best on any given screen size or device.
Chances are, if you have not updated your website in some time, your own site is NOT responsive or “mobile-friendly”.
What if my site is not Mobile-Friendly ?
In the past this was perfectly fine if your information was getting across to potential clients or fans just as you needed, however with the ever changing face of technology, you may be ‘penalised’ for this in the coming weeks.
It’s no surprise that Google is the number one ranking search engine that most people use on a regular basis. If you are hoping to attract new customers with your website then it’s kind of common sense that you want to be found in the top page of the Google search. That in itself is a whole new topic but something we can happily discuss if you need us to.
New changes to Google’s search rankings will mean a big shake up to the way it determines who comes where in its searches.
Put into simple English, if your website is NOT responsive, then regardless of how well you think you may be doing in the rankings, you are about to drop off the face of searches in favour of newer, mobile-friendly websites.
You can read more about it here, although it is full of jargon !
